The
Auto A/C Service Question was... You
just discharged the A/C system to replace a leaking valve core. Because the
system was not opened, you do not have to pull vacuum (or you can quickly
pull vacuum to 26 or 27").
Most
are really confused about proper vacuum when it comes to auto A/C system
service and recharging, but understand that...
You
must always pull deep vacuum! Keep in mind that even though it was just a
valve core, that opening has allowed some amount of air to enter the A/C
system. Besides that, it is critically important for proper A/C performance
that every charge start with deep vacuum to remove any air and moisture.
